Most refreshing lozenges are based on menthol and sugar — and that is where it ends. In RADOGRAD Karamell PIPARMÜNT ja EUKALÜPT, menthol, peppermint and eucalyptus also form the base, but plant extracts have been added to them, including lemon balm, thyme, sage, chamomile, linden, liquorice, anise and yarrow. Each of these has long been used in herbal blends and lozenges with a gentle herbal profile, so the flavour is more complex and ‘warmer’ than that of purely menthol sweets.
The formula also includes vitamin C and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin C contributes to the functioning of the immune system and helps protect cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin D3 is linked to the immune response and the general state of the body — which is particularly relevant in autumn and winter, when there is little sunlight. These vitamins do not turn the lozenge into a medicine and do not replace a balanced diet, but they set it apart from ordinary sweets, which contain no such components.
The boiled-sweet format means the lozenge dissolves slowly: it stays in contact with the lining of the mouth for longer, so the refreshing effect unfolds gradually rather than abruptly, as it does with chewing gum or sprays.
It is important to remember that RADOGRAD is a food supplement, not a medicine, and is not intended to treat or prevent disease.
