Wrist support (with ribs) universal size 1 552-1

Product description

Fosta Wrist Support with Stiffeners, universal size 1, is an orthopedic wrist brace for people who need steadier wrist positioning during work, exercise, or the period after minor strain or immobilisation. This smallest size in the Fosta 552-1 range is intended for a slimmer wrist circumference, so it may suit women, teenagers, or those with narrower hands. People usually choose this kind of bandage when the wrist feels vulnerable during repeated hand movements, gripping tasks, or return to activity.

How the brace works

The main role of the brace comes from its rigid stiffening inserts. These inserts help keep the wrist in a more controlled position and limit excessive bending forward, backward, and sideways. In simple terms, this reduces unnecessary movement that can increase load on the joint, surrounding soft tissues, and tendons. By holding the area more steadily, the wrist support can make hand-intensive tasks feel more manageable and may help reduce mechanical strain during use.

Key features

The brace includes:

• rigid stiffening inserts that keep the wrist in a controlled position
• adjustable Velcro fastening for a gradual fit
• soft inner lining for comfortable longer wear

Another practical feature of the Fosta wrist support is the adjustable Velcro fastening, which allows a gradual fit rather than a fixed tightness. This helps the brace sit securely without pressing more than needed. The soft inner lining is designed for longer wear during active hours, especially if you use a keyboard, tools, sports equipment, or do repetitive manual tasks. Its universal construction is made for either hand, though it is still worth checking the packaging before use.

When to use the wrist support

This wrist bandage is often chosen as part of a recovery period after wrist overload or after cast removal, and also as extra stability during sports or repetitive work.

Important cautions

It is not a substitute for medical assessment if pain, swelling, weakness, or tingling is significant or persistent. Do not wear it over damaged or irritated skin, and if the brace causes numbness or marked discomfort, remove it and ask a healthcare professional for advice.
