Vitamir Calcium D3 with Orange Flavour is a dietary supplement providing calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in a pleasant chewable tablet format with natural orange flavour. Calcium carbonate is one of the most widely used and well-studied calcium supplement forms, containing 40% elemental calcium by mass — one of the highest concentrations among calcium supplement forms. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has established the following authorized health claims for calcium: "Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones; contributes to normal muscle function and normal neurotransmission." For vitamin D3, the EU authorized claims include: "Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus; to normal blood calcium levels; to the maintenance of normal bones; to the maintenance of normal muscle function; and to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin D is needed for normal growth and development of bone in children."
