What This Mask Is For
SUNGIT Intensive Hair Mask with Keratin is designed for dry, weakened and brittle hair that needs more than a regular conditioner. It is a good choice when hair feels porous after frequent heat styling, colouring, bleaching, sun exposure or hard water, and the lengths start to look frizzy, flat or difficult to detangle.
Key Active Ingredient
Keratin is a protein closely related to the natural structural material of the hair shaft. In hair cosmetics, it helps coat and fill uneven areas on the surface of damaged strands — working like a smoothing film over lifted cuticles, so hair tends to:
- feel denser and look neater
- break less easily during combing
- appear more even from root area to ends
This does not "repair" hair in the biological sense, but it can noticeably improve the appearance and handling of stressed lengths and ends.
Why a Mask Rather Than a Conditioner
The longer contact time gives conditioning ingredients more opportunity to soften coarse sections and reduce friction between strands. As a result, hair is often easier to comb, less prone to static and visually more even. This is especially relevant for:

How to Use

According to the manufacturer's description, the intensive mask with keratin and natural oils is intended for damaged hair: it gives the hair back its strength and shine. The card does not name hair types or situations in which it is best to use it.
According to the card, the mask is applied evenly to damp clean hair and scalp, left for 1–3 minutes and rinsed off thoroughly with warm water. The card does not state the amount of the mask, how often to use it or when results appear.
On the card, Karelian shungite is named as a “highly active” component of the mask; the manufacturer attributes to it an effect on the scalp and hair roots and an antioxidant effect, but gives no data or methods confirming this. Other components named include keratin, shea and monoi oils, panthenol and wheat protein.
