ELFA PHARM 7 in 1 Hair Serum is a leave-in scalp and hair serum designed for people who notice increased shedding, weakened roots or hair that has become dry and fragile from styling, colouring or seasonal stress. This Elfa Pharm hair serum combines seven oils to nourish the scalp, improve the look of the lengths and make hair feel smoother and more resilient without the heaviness of a rich mask.
How the blend works
The idea behind this formula is simple: the scalp needs a balanced lipid layer, and the hair shaft needs protection from moisture loss. The oils each play a different role:
- Burdock oil — traditionally used in hair products aimed at weak roots and excess oiliness.
- Castor oil — valued for its thick, coating texture that helps reduce roughness and gives hair a denser, glossier look.
- Rosemary oil — often included in scalp serums for its warming, toning effect that helps the skin feel more stimulated during massage.

Dispense a few drops directly onto the scalp in sections — use the dropper or your fingertips to target areas where you notice more shedding or dryness. Massage gently for 30–60 seconds to stimulate circulation and help the oils penetrate; this also distributes the product evenly. After massaging, run any residue down the mid-lengths and ends to coat the hair shaft and reduce friction during brushing. The serum is leave-in, so do not rinse it out.
The serum uses a mix of lighter (burdock, rosemary, cedarwood) and richer (castor, avocado, shea butter) oils. Castor oil and shea butter are heavier by nature, but in a leave-in serum they are balanced by the more astringent oils so the finish is meant to be satin, not slick. On medium to thick hair, 4–6 drops distributed from scalp to ends usually absorbs within 10–15 minutes and leaves a soft, glossy feel. On fine or low-porosity hair, start with 2–3 drops applied only to the scalp — avoid the first 3–5 cm of the lengths unless they are visibly dry. If the roots look oily the next morning, reduce the amount or apply only on wash days.
This serum is a cosmetic product formulated to improve the scalp environment — balancing oiliness, reducing dryness, and coating the hair shaft so strands feel stronger and look denser. The oils (burdock, castor, rosemary, cedarwood) are traditionally chosen for scalp toning and reducing breakage from mechanical stress, which can make existing hair appear fuller over time. However, it does not contain minoxidil, finasteride, or any drug-class ingredient, and it cannot reactivate dormant follicles or reverse androgenetic alopecia.
Coloured, bleached, permed, or relaxed hair tends to be more porous and loses moisture faster, which is exactly what the emollients in this serum (avocado oil, shea butter, castor oil) address. They fill gaps in the cuticle, reduce friction, and slow down colour fade caused by UV and washing. Apply 2–3 drops to damp, towel-dried lengths after every wash to maintain elasticity and shine. The rosemary and cedarwood oils are present at cosmetic levels and are not known to strip colour; however, essential oils can be sensitising on a freshly processed scalp.
