A standardised extract in a 10:1 ratio is not simply ground neem leaves, but a concentrate: 10 parts of plant raw material yield 1 part of the finished substance. In practice this means that one capsule contains noticeably more of neem's natural compounds — bitter substances, flavonoids and other phytocomponents — than the same volume of ordinary leaf powder.
The manufacturer explicitly states that PLANET AYURVEDA Neem N60 should not be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding — this is because of neem's pronounced plant profile. This restriction applies to the whole period of pregnancy and lactation, not just certain trimesters.
Neem is most often added to the diet in a few situations. The first is during seasons of change: periods of changing climate or lifestyle, when you want to support overall dietary balance with extra plant components.
