  • has a calming effect on the nervous system, relieves depression, normalizes sleep;
  • simultaneously with the calming effect, it also has a toning effect;
  • has antiseptic, antispasmodic, antifungal properties;
  • in cosmetology, it is used for problematic adolescent (and not only) skin, thanks to its antiseptic and healing properties;
  • regulates the balance and oiliness of the skin.

Methods of using essential oils

Aromalamp. Ventilate the room, close the windows. Pour warm water into the aroma lamp, add essential oil there (2 drops per 5 m² of room area). Light a candle under the aroma lamp. The water should not boil. Lamp operating time: from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Do not leave a burning lamp unattended. Add water as needed.

Aroma pendant: Add 3-5 drops of oil or oil blend to the aroma pendant and wear it around your neck during the day.

Aromatic baths. Fill the tub with water at a comfortable temperature. Mix essential oil in the base (sea salt, milk, kefir) in the following proportions:

  • For a full bath - 8 drops for general strengthening, 10-13 for healing
  • For a sitz bath - 2 drops for general strengthening, 4 for healing
  • For hands and feet - 4 drops of oil per container.

Bathing time - 10-20 minutes.

Compresses. Dissolve up to 5 drops of essential oil or oil blend in 1 glass of water (as for baths). Moisten cotton fabric with this solution and apply to the desired area for 2 hours. The water for compresses in cases of rheumatic, muscular, or joint pain should be hot (40-45 °C). Cover with plastic wrap, hold until temperature equalization. After the compress has cooled, remove the wrap, dry with a towel, and wrap with a dry and warm cloth to retain heat.

Cold compresses are made with cooled water or ice. They help with headaches, strains, swelling, and bruises.

Massage and rubs. Mix essential oil in vegetable cosmetic oil, cream (3-5 drops per 10 ml), apply to the skin, then massage according to the body's condition.

Enrichment of shampoos, shower gels, creams: add 2-3 drops of oil or oil blend per 10-15 g of enriched product.

For perfumes, apply 1 drop to the inner part of the wrist or clothing seams, as well as to the hair. Spray 5-20 drops of essential oils (aroma compositions), diluted in 1 tablespoon of alcohol-containing product, into a sprayer filled with 1 liter of plain water. Then shake the vessel and spray the mixture in the room.

PRECAUTIONS:

Consider individual intolerance!

Before first use, it is advisable to conduct a test* to exclude allergic reactions.

*Sensitivity test: 1 drop of essential oil + 1 drop of any base oil, mix, apply to the inner surface of the wrist/elbow bend; if there are no allergic reactions within 24 hours, this essential oil can be used.

All essential oils are without exception natural, if dosing is observed, they do not have a negative side effect on the body, do not cause addiction or reduced efficacy, do not cause imbalance of physiological processes in the body.

To achieve a positive therapeutic effect, the aroma must be pleasant. During an aromatherapy session, it is advisable to increase the amount of consumed plain water, as natural essential oils accelerate metabolic processes.

Customer Questions
What does bergamot essential oil smell like and how is it different from other citrus oils like lemon or orange?
Bergamot essential oil has a distinct citrus aroma that is both fresh and gently grounding. Unlike the sharper, more direct scent of lemon or the sweeter, brighter note of sweet orange, bergamot's character is softer and carries a subtle floral nuance. This profile is why it is a classic component in perfumes and is often chosen for room sprays and evening relaxation blends where the goal is a lively atmosphere that isn't overly stimulating.When diffused or used in an aroma lamp, this scent can noticeably shape the mood of a space. In personal fragrance rituals, it works well as a light scent carrier on hair or clothing. This balance – feeling calming yet not heavy, bright yet not overly sharp – is what makes bergamot a versatile and widely appreciated choice in aromatherapy and natural cosmetics.
How do I safely use this bergamot oil in a bath or for massage?
Essential oils, including bergamot, are highly concentrated and must be diluted before direct skin contact. For a bath, add a few drops to a tablespoon of a dispersing agent like unscented bath gel, milk, or a carrier oil before mixing into the bathwater. This helps the oil disperse properly instead of floating on the surface, which can cause direct contact with skin.For a massage blend, dilute the bergamot oil in a base oil such as jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil. A common safe dilution for general body use is around 1-2%, which equates to roughly 1-2 drops of essential oil per teaspoon (5 ml) of carrier oil. Always test the diluted blend on a small patch of skin first, like your inner forearm, and wait 24 hours to check for any reaction. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Consult a specialist before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have very sensitive skin, or are using medication for chronic conditions.
Can I use this oil directly on my face for oily skin?
Bergamot essential oil is noted for properties that make it suitable for oily or blemish-prone skin when properly diluted. It is never safe to apply pure, undiluted essential oil directly to the face or any skin.To use it in a skincare routine, add one drop of bergamot oil to a sufficient amount of a non-comedogenic carrier oil (like jojoba or argan oil) or an unscented face cream or gel—enough for a single application. A typical facial dilution is very low, around 0.5-1%. Perform a patch test with the diluted mixture on a small area (like behind the ear or on the jawline) and wait 24 hours to ensure no irritation occurs. This oil is intended for external cosmetic use to enrich products with a pleasant aroma and is not a treatment for medical skin conditions. It is not a substitute for a balanced skincare regimen or medical advice.

AROMASaules Naturaalne eeterlik õli BERGAMOT 10 ml by Saules Sapnis is a bergamot essential oil for home fragrance, bath rituals, massage blends and cosmetic use. People usually choose bergamot when they want a citrus aroma that feels both fresh and gently grounding. Unlike sharper lemon notes, bergamot has a softer, slightly floral character, which is why it is often used in perfumes, room sprays and evening relaxation blends.

How it works

The main value of bergamot essential oil lies in its volatile aromatic compounds, which are released quickly into the air and perceived through smell. This is why the oil is often used in aroma lamps, diffusers and personal fragrance rituals: scent can noticeably shape the atmosphere of a room and the overall mood. In skin blends, bergamot is appreciated for properties that make it suitable for oily or blemish-prone skin when properly diluted in a base oil or cream. It is also a popular choice when hair or clothing is used as a light fragrance carrier.

Ways to use it

What makes this product interesting is its versatility. The same essential oil can be used in several ways depending on the situation:

  • Room spray: a few drops for a fresher indoor environment.
  • Bath blend: added to the water for a more relaxing evening.
  • Massage base: mixed into a base oil for a warming aromatic effect.

Bergamot has a long tradition in perfumery precisely because it bridges two directions at once: it can feel calming, yet not heavy; bright, yet not overly sharp. That balance is one reason citrus essential oils remain so widely loved in aromatherapy and natural cosmetics.

Who it suits

This type of essential oil suits people who enjoy building simple scent rituals at home, want to add a citrus note to DIY perfume use, or prefer to enrich face or body products with a more lively aroma. It can fit nicely into a self-care moment after a long day, in a bath, in an aroma lamp, or as part of a diluted massage blend.

Important notes

  • If using on skin or scalp, always dilute first and test on a small area.
  • Essential oils are concentrated substances, so avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
  • Use extra caution during pregnancy, for children, or if your skin is very sensitive.
