Vitamir L-Carnitine 500 mg (Acetyl-L-Carnitine) is a food supplement from the Vitamir range, providing 500 mg of acetyl-L-carnitine per tablet as an additional dietary source of this naturally occurring nitrogen-containing compound. Carnitine is found at highest concentrations in skeletal muscle tissue, cardiac muscle and the brain. The acetylated form (ALC) is the most abundant carnitine ester in the brain and the primary form transported across the blood-brain barrier. Dietary sources of L-carnitine are found primarily in animal products, particularly red meat and dairy; biosynthesis covers the remainder of requirements in healthy individuals with adequate co-factor status. Each Vitamir tablet provides 500 mg acetyl-L-carnitine. Recommended course: 1 tablet per day for 1–2 months; may be repeated.
