Why are black cumin oil and curcumin combined in one complex? Do they enhance each other? — Mirrolla Immune Complex dietary supplement "Black cumin oil with curcumin", caps. No.30, weight 700 mg
There is a practical rationale for combining these two ingredients in one capsule, not only a marketing one.
Curcumin and fats. Curcumin, the active pigment of turmeric with antioxidant properties, is a fat-soluble compound. This means that in the presence of fat it is absorbed by the body better than in an aqueous medium. Black cumin oil acts as exactly such a fat base right inside the capsule, without the need to take the supplement specifically with a fatty meal.
Black cumin oil. The oil itself is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and natural compounds, among which thymoquinone is particularly singled out. This ingredient has long been used in various food traditions and is often included in seasonal complexes, including for discomfort of the respiratory tract.
Tocopherols (compounds of the vitamin E group) play a supporting role in the composition: they help keep the oil stable and protect it from oxidation during storage.
Thus, the formula is built so that its components logically complement each other: the oil creates a medium for curcumin, while the tocopherols support the quality of the oil. This is not a medicinal product but a food supplement, which is considered as an addition to a balanced diet rather than a replacement for it.
