Why does a B complex contain vitamins C and E — aren't they superfluous? — Vitamin B Complex 90 tabs. OstroVit

Most B complexes are limited to the eight B vitamins. In this product, vitamin C in the form of L-ascorbic acid and vitamin E have been added to them — and each has its own role that does not duplicate the B vitamins.

  • Vitamin C is involved in collagen synthesis and helps the body absorb iron from plant foods better — this is especially relevant if your diet contains little meat. It is also involved in the antioxidant protection of cells.
  • Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant. It helps protect cell membranes from oxidative stress, which increases with lack of sleep, intense exertion and unfavourable environmental conditions.

B vitamins, in turn, are involved in energy metabolism, the functioning of the nervous system and blood formation — separate functions that vitamins C and E do not cover. So combining the three groups in one tablet makes sense: they work in different directions and do not duplicate each other.

If you already take separate supplements with vitamin C or E, check the total doses so as not to exceed the recommended amounts. If you take medication or have a chronic condition, consult a specialist.
