Will this shade cover gray hair completely, and how does it wear over time?

As a level 3 (dark brown/black-brown) permanent cream dye, Dark Chocolate 3.0 contains enough pigment load and alkalinity to penetrate resistant gray/white hair and deposit lasting color. On a full head of gray, you will get an opaque, even dark chocolate result — the rice protein helps the pigment bind uniformly, reducing the translucent look that some fashion shades leave on white hair. For stubborn grays (coarse, glassy texture), apply the mixture first to the most resistant areas and allow the full maximum processing time indicated in the leaflet. Over the following weeks, the color will not wash out like a semi-permanent; it grows out. You will see a root line typically at 4–6 weeks depending on your growth rate. As the dye oxidizes with washing, UV exposure, and heat styling, the tone may shift slightly warmer — revealing the underlying red-brown warmth that gives "chocolate" its depth. This is normal for permanent brunette shades. To slow fading, wash with cool water, use a sulfate-free shampoo for color-treated hair, and limit hot-tool use. The keratin fixing balm from the kit can be reapplied (buy a separate keratin mask) every 1–2 weeks to maintain smoothness and shine between colorings.
