What safety steps should I take before using this hair colour?

Always perform the sensitivity test 48 hours before each colouring, even if you have used this or another hair dye in the past. Oxidative hair colours contain reactive ingredients, and reactions can occur unexpectedly. Follow the test method in the package leaflet rather than improvising, because the manufacturer’s instructions are part of safe use.

Do not apply the colour to an irritated, damaged or uncomfortable scalp, and do not use it on eyelashes or eyebrows. Keep the mixture away from the eyes, wear suitable gloves, and apply only for the purpose stated: colouring scalp hair. If the product gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and follow the safety advice in the leaflet.

Before starting, read the full instructions, prepare the working area, and mix only what the leaflet tells you to mix. Use the correct colour cream and developer combination supplied with the product; changing the developer or ratio can affect the result and may increase the risk of irritation. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have previously reacted to hair colour, consult a specialist before colouring.
