What is the difference between this heel cream and a regular body lotion?

Regular body lotions are usually formulated for the thinner skin on the arms and legs. The skin on the heels is naturally thicker, less flexible, and tends to lose moisture faster, so a generic lotion may feel fine at first but not change the rough texture. Medikomed Heel Cream uses hydroxyethyl urea, a modified form of urea that acts as a humectant. A humectant attracts water and helps hold it in the outer layers of the skin. That extra hydration makes the rough surface feel less rigid and smoother over time.

The cream is also designed to stay where you put it. It leaves a thin surface film that reduces moisture loss, which is useful for heels exposed to friction from shoes or long hours of standing. Unlike a scrub, it does not physically remove hardened skin. Instead, it hydrates the built-up layer so excess cells shed more naturally with everyday wear.

Texturally, it is light and absorbs quickly. That means you are less likely to skip it because of a greasy residue. If you have been using a regular body lotion and your heels still feel coarse, a humectant-based heel cream is a more targeted option for daily foot care.
