This 250 ml cedar nut oil is made by cold pressing, so the seeds are not exposed to aggressive heat during production. That keeps the flavour and the naturally present components better preserved than in highly refined oils. The result is an oil with a distinctive mild nutty taste and a different fatty-acid profile from ordinary cooking oils.
It is not a neutral base for frying. It is usually chosen for dishes where the oil is not overheated: salads, porridge, cottage cheese, smoothies, or a final drizzle over a finished meal. Because the flavour is rich, a small amount is enough to change a simple dish.
Compared with sunflower, olive or flaxseed oil, cedar nut oil offers another option for people who want minimally processed food oils and more variety in their everyday fat intake. It contains naturally occurring unsaturated fatty acids (including omega-3, omega-6 and gamma-linolenic acid), vitamin E and phospholipids. Keep it as a finishing oil, not as the main oil for the stove.
