Yes, it is completely normal for the chewing resin to crumble in the first seconds. The pieces are hard at room temperature, and the warmth of your mouth needs a moment to soften them. If a piece feels too firm, hold it between your fingers for a few seconds before putting it in your mouth.
Start by chewing slowly and gently rather than biting down hard. Within a couple of minutes the resin should turn into a smooth, elastic lump that you can chew for 10–20 minutes without it breaking apart. Most people find one 0.8 g piece per session is enough; starting with one piece and seeing how it feels is the simplest approach. When you are done, remove the lump from your mouth and discard it as you would with regular chewing gum.
A few practical points: if the resin becomes too sticky on your teeth, press it together with your tongue and take a short break from chewing. If you are on a long drive or in a meeting and cannot rinse your mouth afterward, this product can still give you the feeling of a cleaner mouth because it stimulates saliva. Just remember that it only supports the mouth's natural rinsing action — it is not a substitute for regular oral care.
