It is normal for this product to be solid in the jar. Although the product name uses the Estonian word for shea oil, the actual content is a pure plant butter. Shea butter is a vegetable fat that stays solid at room temperature and melts at about 42°C. When you hold it in your hands, it softens enough to spread smoothly, but it is not meant to be a liquid oil in the jar.
In warm weather, the whole jar may become soft or partially liquid. This is not a sign that the product is spoiled; it will turn back into a creamy solid when cooled. If the butter is too hard to pick up in cold conditions, warm the jar between your hands for a minute or stand it in a bowl of warm water. Avoid heating it in a microwave or in very hot water, as excessive heat can alter the texture.
To get the most out of this product, keep the lid closed after use and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight. Try not to introduce water into the jar, since moisture can make the surface of the butter less pleasant to use and may shorten its life. Always check the label for the recommended shelf life and the period after opening, as all cosmetic products have a finite usable life.
