Is the plaster suitable for children and pregnant women?

When applied locally, salicylic acid acts mainly on the surface of the skin, but children have a thinner skin barrier and a larger body surface area relative to their weight — which means a higher risk of systemic absorption, even with external use. For this reason, the plaster should be used on children only after consulting a paediatrician or dermatologist, who will assess the child’s age, the size of the callus and whether such treatment is appropriate.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women are also advised to consult a specialist beforehand: there are not enough data on the safety of salicylic acid in plaster form during pregnancy to consider its use unequivocally safe.

According to the label, the plaster is not used if you have a skin disease (for example, psoriasis or eczema), and if you have a systemic condition affecting the skin and blood vessels, its use should be discussed with a doctor before you start.
