Many warming ointments contain essential oils – menthol, camphor, eucalyptus or turpentine. They give a pronounced smell and can cause irritation in people with sensitive skin or intolerance of sharp scents. This ointment has no such components: the composition is limited to goose fat and beeswax.
Goose fat itself has a faint, almost neutral smell of animal origin – it is noticeable on application, but not sharp, and soon stops being perceptible. The warming effect here is achieved not by irritating substances but by the fatty base, which retains body heat and reduces heat loss from the skin.
This makes the ointment suitable for those who want a mild product without a pronounced pharmaceutical smell, and also for people for whom classic warming ointments with essential oils are contraindicated or uncomfortable. At the same time, it is important to bear in mind that goose fat is a product of animal origin, and if you are allergic to poultry or poultry products, you should consult a specialist before use.
