OLKO SALIPOD is designed for dry, hardened areas of skin — dense calluses on the heels, toes or the front of the foot. It is on such areas that salicylic acid gradually loosens the bonds between the cells of the horny layer, while sulfur helps dry the surface.
Cracks, even superficial ones, already mean that the skin is broken. Applying a keratolytic plaster to them is not recommended: the active substances may penetrate deeper than necessary and cause burning or irritation. The same applies to areas with redness, inflammation or weeping.
If the cracks are shallow and located next to the callus, you can try to apply the plaster very precisely — only to the keratinised area, avoiding the damaged edges. But at the slightest discomfort, it is better to remove it early.
The plaster is not used if you have a skin disease, open wounds or hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients (they include, in particular, natural rubber, lanolin and pine rosin). With marked cracking, diabetes or impaired circulation in the legs, it is worth consulting a doctor or podiatrist before use.
