Can the cream-balm be used if the skin has cracks or irritation? — Cream-Balm for Corns and Calluses, 10 g-HealerCosmetics

The cream-balm is intended for the care of hardened, dry skin on the feet — corns and calluses. It is not recommended for damaged areas: open cracks, small wounds, or areas with marked inflammation or irritation.

The reason is simple: the active softening components, which work well on a thick horny layer, may cause discomfort or increase irritation on skin that has no protective barrier. In addition, applying it to damaged skin increases the risk of unwanted reactions.

If the cracks are shallow and the skin around them is simply dry, it is worth letting the skin recover first with a neutral moisturiser, and only after it has healed moving on to more active care of the hardened areas.

In the case of deep cracks, prolonged irritation or any skin changes that do not go away on their own, it is better to consult a specialist — a dermatologist or a podiatrist — before using any foot products.
