Although this is a herbal drink rather than a medicine, the manufacturer recommends consulting a doctor before use. This is especially important in the following situations:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding. The effect of many herbs during this period has not been sufficiently studied, so any herbal additions to the diet are best agreed with a doctor.
- Chronic conditions. If you have diagnosed conditions that require ongoing monitoring, make sure that a new herbal drink does not conflict with your current recommendations.
- Taking medicines. Some plant compounds can interact with medicines — this is especially relevant with long-term, regular consumption of herbal infusions.
- Tendency to allergic reactions. Burdock belongs to the aster (daisy) family, which also includes chamomile, ragweed and chrysanthemum. People with a known allergy to plants of this family should be careful.
The main thing is not to regard burdock leaf tea as a substitute for a balanced diet or medical care.
