When and how is it best to take ashwagandha to get it right?

Adults take 2 capsules 2 times a day, i.e. 4 capsules (2 g of ashwagandha) per day; the recommended daily dose is not exceeded. Below are some practical pointers to help you fit the supplement into your routine.

Ashwagandha is traditionally taken as a course: a single dose does not give the effect for which it is chosen. The usual practice is to take it regularly for several weeks. Many people prefer to take it at the same times every day so as not to miss a dose.

The two doses are conveniently spread between morning and evening. Taking it with food or a small amount of liquid reduces the likelihood of stomach discomfort, which sometimes occurs when it is taken on an empty stomach.

If you take medicines, including thyroid medication, immunosuppressants or sleep aids, it is worth consulting a specialist before you start — plant adaptogens can interact with a number of medicines. The supplement is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and it is not taken in case of individual intolerance to its ingredients.
