How should this tea be brewed, and when is the best time to drink it?

The tea comes in bags, so preparation is standard: put a bag in a cup, pour over 200 ml of boiling water and leave to steep for 5–10 minutes. The longer it steeps, the stronger the taste and the richer the infusion; it is best to start with a shorter time to see how your body reacts.

Since the main ingredient is cassia (senna) leaves, which are traditionally associated with a laxative effect on the bowel, many people prefer to drink this infusion in the evening: the effect of such herbs usually appears not immediately but after several hours. This is convenient if you want the result to come the following morning.

It is more sensible to start with one bag rather than a stronger infusion, so as to understand your individual tolerance. The anise in the blend eases the feeling of heaviness and bloating, while the liquorice root and rosehip make the taste rounder and milder. The infusion is drunk warm; if you like, it can be seen as a replacement for your usual evening cup of tea, but not as a permanent part of your daily diet.
