How do you prepare an infusion of alfalfa leaves correctly?

Since LEKRASET Lutsern lehed is whole dried plant material rather than an extract or instant powder, the infusion is prepared in the classic way. For one serving, take 1–2 teaspoons of dried leaves, pour hot water over them and leave to infuse as stated in the instructions on the pack. Then strain and drink warm.

The strength of the infusion can be adjusted within 1–2 teaspoons: less plant material or a shorter infusing time will give a milder taste, more — a more pronounced one. This is one of the advantages of whole plant material over tea bags with a fixed dose.

Alfalfa has a neutral, slightly grassy taste — without pronounced bitterness or aroma. It can be combined with mint, lemon balm or a little honey if you want some variety. The infusion is best drunk freshly made.

The plant material itself should be stored in a dry, dark place in tightly closed packaging — this preserves the quality of the leaves for the whole shelf life stated on the pack.
