How should I care for the shungite pendant? — Shungite pendant "Ring" 35mm

Shungite is a porous mineral, so it is better not to soak it or subject it to prolonged exposure to water. If the pendant gets dirty, it is enough to wipe the stone with a slightly damp soft cloth and dry it straight away. Aggressive cleaning agents, alcohol and ultrasonic baths are not suitable: they can damage the surface.

A waxed cord may lose its elasticity over time or darken from contact with skin and cosmetics. If the cord wears out, it is easy to replace: shungite pendants are usually fitted on a removable cord.

It is better to store the item separately from metal jewellery to avoid scratches on the surface of the stone. A small fabric bag or a separate compartment in a jewellery box will do.

If you have sensitive skin or tend to react to materials in contact with the body, start wearing the pendant with caution, especially if the cord rests against the skin of the neck for a long time. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop wearing it and consult a doctor.
