LEKRASET purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) is supplied as a natural herbal raw material, so the main way to use it is to prepare an infusion. To make the infusion, pour a glass of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of the herb, cover with a lid and leave to infuse for 15 minutes, then strain. Adults take 1/2 glass 2 times a day with meals; keep the ready infusion in the refrigerator for no more than 2 days.
A few practical points worth bearing in mind:
- Water temperature. The herb is infused specifically with boiling water, under a lid.
- Steeping time. The infusion is left for 15 minutes and then strained; it has a mild herbal taste.
- Use in blends. The advantage of the natural format is that the herb can be mixed with other medicinal plants — for example, rosehip or mint — for home herbal blends.
- Storing the raw material. Keep the herb in a dry, dark place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Proper storage preserves the plant's aroma and composition.
Echinacea is not used during pregnancy, while breastfeeding or in cases of individual intolerance. If you take medicines, it is worth consulting a specialist before use.
