How do you use a copper tongue scraper correctly?

Hold the scraper with both hands by the handles — its 14 cm length makes it easy to control the pressure. Stick out your tongue, place the curved working part as close to the back of the tongue as possible and draw it smoothly towards the tip, collecting the coating. Repeat 3–4 times, rinsing the scraper under water after each pass, and finish by rinsing your mouth thoroughly.

Most people make the scraper part of their morning routine straight after waking up — that is when the coating on the tongue is most noticeable. The label advises cleaning the tongue after brushing your teeth. Some people also use it after coffee, meals or smoking, when they want their mouth to feel fresher.

The main rule is light pressure. The scraper works mechanically: its curved shape covers a large part of the tongue's surface in one pass, so no force is needed. If you feel discomfort or irritation, reduce the pressure. If you have sores in your mouth or a particularly sensitive oral mucosa, it is best to consult a dentist before use.
