For the skin, it is best to apply castor oil in a thin layer to a clean, dry area. A small amount is enough: the oil is thick, so if you use too much it may stay sticky or greasy for a long time. It is convenient to apply it to specific dry areas — around the nails, on the elbows, knees, heels or other areas where there is flaking and a feeling of tightness.
For the cuticles, apply a drop of oil to the base of the nail and gently rub it in with circular movements. This helps soften the cuticles and make the nail plate look more cared for. It is best to apply the oil after washing your hands and drying them thoroughly, when there is no water on the skin: this way the film will be more even and the care more comfortable.
If you use a hand or body cream, castor oil can be applied over it to the driest areas to lock in moisture. For daytime use, take the minimum amount, especially if you need to use your phone, handle papers or get dressed straight after applying it. In the evening, you can leave the oil on the skin longer, protecting the area with cotton socks or gloves if necessary.
Do not apply the oil to mucous membranes and avoid contact with the eyes. If burning, itching or noticeable redness occurs, wash the product off, stop using it and consult a doctor.
