How should the balm be applied, and to which areas? — Golden Star balm 10 g - Cao Sao Vang

Cao Sao Vang is applied to specific spots: take a very small amount, literally the size of a pea, and rub it into the desired area with a fingertip. The main areas of application mentioned in the tradition of using such balms are the temples, the back of the neck, the area under the nose, and small areas of the body where a warming or counter-irritant effect is wanted.

The menthol in the composition acts on the skin's cold receptors, creating a cooling sensation immediately after application. Camphor and essential oils add a deeper local sensation of warmth: it is this combination of “cool on the outside, warm on the inside” that is typical of such balms. The wax and petroleum jelly base keeps the active ingredients where they are applied and slows their evaporation, so the aroma and sensations last longer than with an ordinary essential oil.

It is important to avoid applying it to irritated or broken skin, mucous membranes and the area around the eyes: essential oils and camphor can cause a strong burning sensation in these areas. If you have sensitive skin or are trying a product like this for the first time, start with a minimal amount on a small area and wait a few minutes to make sure there is no unwanted reaction.
