Before applying, wash the skin of the feet and dry it thoroughly: a damp surface makes the plaster stick less well and may reduce the concentration of the active substance on the target area. Cut or choose a piece of plaster to match the size of the corn: it should cover just the hardened area without extending onto the healthy skin around it.
The salicylic acid in the formula works as a keratolytic: it gradually softens the dense horny layer while the plaster is pressed firmly against the skin. Lanolin and the oily components additionally soften the area, making the process gentler. That is why it is important for the plaster to stay in place without shifting: only then does the active mass act locally.
According to the instructions, the plaster is left on for 1–2 days (24–48 hours). After it is removed, the softened horny layer is easier to take off with a pumice stone or a special foot file. Do not try to cut off or tear away the softened skin abruptly, as this may damage the living layers.
If the corn has not gone completely after the first application, the procedure is repeated a day or two later, giving the skin a rest. If severe burning or redness appears, the plaster is removed early and a break is taken.
