How should flaxseed oil capsules be stored?

Flaxseed oil is one of the least stable vegetable oils: it oxidises quickly when exposed to heat, light and oxygen. The capsule form partly protects the oil from contact with air, but general storage rules remain important.

  • Store the capsules in a dry, cool and dark place — away from the cooker, radiators and direct sunlight.
  • Do not leave the pack in the car or on a windowsill in warm weather: overheating speeds up oxidation of the oil inside the capsules.
  • Once the pack has been opened, close the lid tightly after each use.
  • Check the storage recommendations on the packaging of your specific batch — the manufacturer may state the optimal temperature range.

The pack contains 120 capsules, which is convenient for taking as a course. If the storage conditions are observed, the product retains its properties for the shelf life stated on the packaging. Do not use the capsules after this date.
