How can I tell that the immobiliser is on correctly and is not squeezing my arm? — Fixing hand holder size 612-1

The product card has no step-by-step check; below are general signs of a correct fit (not a manufacturer's instruction). After putting the bandage on, check a few things. The arm should lie in the sleeve without sagging and without a feeling that the forearm is “hanging” on a single pressure point. The belt and bandage must not dig into the armpit area or squeeze the chest when you breathe.

The fingers of the hand are the main indicator: if they begin to go numb, turn blue or swell, the fixation is too tight. Normally the fingers stay warm, sensitive and move freely (to the extent that this does not conflict with your doctor's recommendations).

The shoulder and collarbone should feel supported, but without sharp pressure on the bones. If sharp pain from pressure appears at any point, adjust the position of the bandage or loosen the belt.

If there is marked swelling, increasing pain or numbness that does not go away after the bandage is loosened, see a doctor: these symptoms need an examination, not an adjustment of tension.
