How should I store the ointment and what should I pay attention to when using it?

Goose fat and beeswax are natural components that are sensitive to heat and direct sunlight. It is better to keep the ointment in a cool place protected from light – for example, in the medicine cabinet or on a shelf away from a radiator. At high temperature the fatty base may soften or separate, which does not always affect its properties but changes the texture.

After use, close the lid tightly: fats tend to oxidise on contact with air, which over time can change the smell and consistency of the product. Take the ointment with a clean dry spatula or cotton bud – this reduces the risk of moisture and dirt getting into the jar.

The 40 ml volume is small and intended for seasonal use. If you take the ointment with you on a walk or a trip, make sure the jar does not overheat in a pocket or rucksack next to sources of heat.

If an atypical smell, a change of colour or separation of the composition appears, the ointment should not be used. Do not apply it to damaged skin, mucous membranes or around the eyes; the ointment is for external use only, so keep it out of the reach of children. If the symptoms for which you are using the ointment do not go away or are accompanied by a high temperature, see a doctor.
