I have sensitive skin and react to fragrances or plant extracts — is this mask safe for me?

The formula includes two components that commonly cause sensitivity: calendula extract and an essential oil blend. Calendula belongs to the Asteraceae (daisy) family; if you have known allergies to chamomile, ragweed, marigold, or other plants in this family, you should avoid this product. The essential oil blend, while included for purifying and conditioning properties, introduces volatile aromatic compounds that can irritate reactive skin, especially if the barrier is already compromised.

If you still wish to try it, perform a patch test: apply a small amount of the essence from the sachet behind the ear or on the inner forearm, leave for 15 minutes, then rinse. Wait 24 hours. If no redness, itching, or swelling occurs, apply the mask to the face for a shorter duration (10 minutes) on the first use. Avoid the eye area entirely. If any stinging, burning, or increased redness appears during use, remove immediately and rinse with cool water. This mask is not recommended for skin with active eczema, rosacea flares, or broken skin. Consult a dermatologist before introducing new botanical-heavy products if you have a diagnosed skin condition or are using prescription topicals.
