Neoprene does not tolerate high heat or aggressive cleaning products. For everyday care, rinse the sleeve after heavy sweating or after wearing it for a long period, then let it air out before storing. Sweat left on neoprene can cause odour and make the fabric surface less pleasant against the skin.
When it needs a deeper clean, hand wash it in cool or lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent. Gently squeeze the sleeve rather than scrubbing hard. Rinse thoroughly until no soap remains, because detergent residue can irritate skin over time. Press out excess water with a towel. Do not wring, iron, tumble dry, or place on a radiator. Lay it flat in a shaded, ventilated place until completely dry.
Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or solvents. They can damage the neoprene and cause the elastic parts to lose their grip. Avoid storing the sleeve folded or stretched in a way that puts permanent creases in the neoprene. Check regularly for tears, loose threads, or a stretched shape; if the sleeve no longer fits firmly, it will not provide the same support and should be replaced.
