How should I store this soap bar to make it last longer?

A solid soap bar lasts longer when it can dry out between uses. After each wash, rinse the bar briefly, shake off excess water, and place it on a soap dish with drainage holes or a raised grid. This lets water run off and air circulate around the bar. If the soap sits in a puddle, it softens and dissolves much faster.

In the shower, place the soap away from the direct water stream. If you use a shower caddy, make sure the soap can drain. For travel, wrap the bar in a paper bag or put it in a ventilated soap tin. A sealed plastic bag traps moisture and can turn the bar soft and sticky. Keep the soap in a dry place at normal room temperature.

If the bar is used by several people, a draining dish also keeps it cleaner and stops it from sticking to the counter. When the bar gets very thin, you can press the remaining piece onto a new bar so nothing is wasted. Do not try to melt the soap in a microwave, as it can change the texture and make it difficult to use.
