How should I store the tube so the protection stays effective all season?

Store the tube away from direct sunlight and high heat. UV filters are chemical compounds that can degrade when exposed to strong light or heat, and a degraded filter means less protection even if the cream still looks normal. Keep it in a bathroom cabinet, a drawer, or a cool bag when at the beach — do not leave it in direct sunlight on the car or on a beach towel.

Check the expiration date before the season starts. A tube that has been open for more than one season may have lost its filters, and it is not worth the risk for a child's skin. If the texture, colour or smell has changed noticeably, discard it.

Also keep the tube out of the reach of small children, and avoid contact with the eyes. If the cream gets into the eyes, rinse with plenty of water.
