To put them on, gather the sock gently and guide it over the foot first, then work it up the ankle and calf in stages. Do not pull hard from the top band alone, as this can overstretch the fabric and may make the sock sit unevenly. Once in place, smooth the knit upward with your hands so there are no folds around the ankle, calf or behind the knee area.
The key point is even pressure. These knee-highs are designed with the strongest pressure at the ankle and lower pressure toward the knee. Wrinkles, twisted fabric or a rolled top edge can change how that pressure is distributed and may create sore spots. If the sock feels bunched or uncomfortable, remove it and put it on again rather than trying to ignore the pressure.
For care, hand-wash the socks or use a gentle machine cycle. Gentle washing helps protect the elastic fibres that hold the compression value in the fabric. Avoid harsh handling such as wringing tightly, stretching the top band excessively, or drying them on direct high heat, as compression hosiery depends on the structure of the knit staying intact.
It is also sensible to check the socks regularly for thinning, loss of elasticity or areas that no longer return to shape. If the garment becomes loose, slips down, or no longer gives firm graduated support, it may not provide the intended compression effect.
