How should I put it on and position the back panel and straps?

Before fastening, set your shoulders into a comfortable upright position—not forced back, just a relaxed straight line from ears to hips. Then place the corset so the back panel is centred along your spine in the thoracic and upper lumbar area. The panel should not sit so low that it presses on the lower back or so high that it touches the neck. Next, bring the shoulder straps over both shoulders, fasten the corset, and adjust the straps evenly on both sides.

  • Keep it centred: check in a mirror that the panel is not shifted to one side. If it is, unfasten and reposition rather than simply pulling the strap tighter.
  • Adjust little by little: tighten both straps by the same amount. The goal is a steady fit—enough to draw the shoulders back and make slouching less easy, but not enough to force your shoulders into an unnatural position.
  • Allow normal movement: the LUX version is semi-rigid, so it gives more structure than a soft posture band, but it should still permit ordinary activities like typing, writing or reaching for a book. If it restricts breathing or movement, loosen it.
  • Wear it over a thin layer if you have sensitive skin: this helps reduce rubbing from the edges and makes it easier to adjust during the day.

In the first days, check the fit a few times. If the straps slip off your shoulders, the panel shifts, or the edges press into your armpits, the size or adjustment is wrong. It can take a few minutes to find the right tightness; once it is set, you should be able to forget about it for the duration of the task. If you feel numbness, tingling, skin irritation or increasing discomfort, stop wearing it and speak with a specialist.
