Use it as the last step of your evening routine, on clean skin. A sensible order is: cleanse, apply any toner or serum you normally use and let it absorb, then finish with this cream. Applying it over slightly damp skin is a common trick with nourishing creams, as it helps trap that surface moisture under the emollient layer.
A pea- to hazelnut-sized amount is usually enough for the face and neck — with a 40 ml tube, this also makes the product last longer. Warm it briefly between your fingertips and spread it in gentle upward strokes over the face and down onto the neck, which is included here because it tends to be one of the drier areas. Avoid the eye area, where the skin is thinner and richer textures can migrate into the eyes overnight.
Give the cream a few minutes to settle before lying down so less of it ends up on your pillowcase. If your skin is very reactive, patch-test on a small area (for example behind the ear) for a day or two before applying it to the whole face.
Nightly use makes the most sense in cooler weather or during periods when skin feels tight and depleted after cleansing; on evenings when your skin feels comfortable, you can simply skip it or apply a thinner layer.
