How long should I wear the posture corset at a time?

The Fosta Rühikorsett LUX (kõva) is described as a short-term aid and training companion, not as full-time body equipment. A common practical approach is to start with 30–60 minute periods during the activity where you need it most, such as computer work, studying, sewing or reading, and then take it off. Wearing it all day without a break does not strengthen your posture; it only reminds your body of a position while the corset is on.

  • Start short: choose one daily task and wear the corset for that task. For example, put it on when you begin desk work and remove it when you stand up for a break.
  • Take breaks: after each session, stand, stretch your chest and shoulders, and walk a little. The corset can help you notice when you are slouching, but your muscles still have to do the work of holding you upright.
  • Combine with exercise: it is often used alongside exercises recommended by a physiotherapist; the corset is not a substitute for those exercises.
  • Listen to your body: pressure, numbness, skin irritation or increasing discomfort are signs to stop using it. If you have scoliosis, persistent back pain or another spinal concern, talk to a doctor, orthopaedist or physiotherapist before use.

There is no fixed hour target that fits everyone. The useful test is whether the corset makes it easier to sit in a reasonably upright position without discomfort during a specific long seated task. If you are constantly readjusting it or eager to take it off, the fit may need checking or the sessions may be too long.
