The built-in UV filter specifically targets the red and copper nuances that typically lose intensity first in sunlight, so outdoor exposure won’t strip the warmth as quickly as untreated direct dyes. On porous or chemically processed hair the colour may grab more strongly initially and take a few extra washes to fade completely, while on lower-porosity hair it can rinse out sooner. To extend the life of the tone, wash with cool water, use a sulphate-free shampoo between tinting sessions, and limit prolonged sun exposure without a hat or leave-in UV protector.
