How long does the cherry tint last and how evenly does it fade?

The tint is a surface coating, not an oxidative dye, so it does not penetrate the cortex. Expect the color to fade progressively with each wash, typically lasting 3–8 shampoos before becoming a subtle sheen. On medium brown hair the warm-red reflection fades to a softer copper glow; on light blonde or bleached hair the vivid cherry tone softens to a pastel pink before disappearing; on gray strands the pigment may cling longer because gray hair is often more porous, so the tint can look uneven as it wears off. Porosity, previous damage, and how long you leave the shampoo on all affect both initial intensity and fade speed. To keep the tone fresh, reapply once a week or whenever the reflection dulls. Avoid clarifying or deep-cleansing shampoos between applications, as they strip the coating faster.
