How long does the aubergine colour last and how does it fade?

This tinting shampoo uses direct dyes that coat the hair surface rather than penetrating the cortex, so the colour washes out progressively over roughly 4–8 shampoos. On more porous hair — such as previously lightened or chemically treated lengths — the pigment may grab more intensely and linger a bit longer, while on low-porosity or natural hair it can fade faster. The UV filter in the formula helps slow sun-induced fading, which is especially relevant for violet-based tones that tend to lose vibrancy in strong light. You will not get a sharp root line as the colour diminishes; instead, the aubergine tone softens into a muted plum or violet sheen. To extend the result, wash with cool water, use a sulphate-free shampoo between applications, and limit prolonged sun exposure or chlorinated water. Re-application is safe whenever the tone feels too faint, since there is no oxidative chemistry to accumulate damage.
