Rubella Beauty BIO VITAL Henna Hele Blond works on a completely different principle than conventional oxidative dyes. Standard permanent dyes use ammonia (or an alkaline agent) to open the hair cuticle and hydrogen peroxide to break down natural melanin while simultaneously developing synthetic colour molecules inside the cortex. This lightens the hair and deposits colour in one step, but it also weakens the internal structure, which is why hair often feels drier or more porous afterwards.
This product uses Lawsonia inermis (henna) as its primary colouring plant. Its active pigment, lawsone, does not penetrate the cortex. Instead it binds to keratin on the outer layer of the hair shaft, forming a translucent, protective film. Because there is no peroxide, the blend cannot lighten your natural pigment — it only adds tone on top of what is already there. The result is therefore additive, not transformative: you gain warm golden-blonde reflections and a noticeable conditioning effect, but a dark brunette will not become blonde.
The sachet format (3 × 20 g) lets you mix only what you need, which is practical for root touch-ups or medium-length hair. Since the formula avoids PPD and synthetic oxidative colourants, it is often chosen by people who have reacted to conventional dyes or who simply prefer a more gentle colouring ritual. The trade-off is that colour longevity depends on how quickly your hair grows and how often you wash; the tone gradually fades rather than leaving a harsh demarcation line.
