Vegetable oils and lavender fragrance are both sensitive to oxidation, which accelerates with heat, light, and air contact. Store the original 1 L bottle in a cool, dark cupboard (ideally below 25 °C) with the cap screwed on tightly after each use. For salon or frequent home use, pour a week's supply into a smaller opaque pump bottle or dark glass dispenser; this reduces the number of times the large bottle is opened and limits the headspace where oxygen can degrade the oil. If the oil develops a rancid, waxy, or sharply alcoholic off-note, or if the lavender aroma fades to a flat herbal smell, it has oxidized and should be replaced. The product is for external cosmetic use only and does not contain preservatives designed for indefinite shelf life once opened; typical period-after-opening for fragranced massage oils is 6–12 months under good storage conditions.
