Because the product contains whole dried Rosa majalis fruits without added flavourings or cut herbs, preparation method noticeably changes the result. For a light, fruity drink, pour 200–250 ml of freshly boiled water over 1–2 teaspoons of whole fruits, cover, and steep 10–15 minutes. For a fuller, more concentrated decoction — traditionally preferred when the goal is to extract more of the fruit's natural compounds — lightly crush the fruits first (a mortar or the back of a spoon works), add to cold water, bring to a gentle simmer, and keep at a low bubble for 15–20 minutes before straining. The longer heat breaks down the fruit walls and releases more of the naturally occurring vitamin C, carotenoids, flavonoids, and organic acids. You can reuse the same fruits for a second, milder batch. Adjust fruit quantity and simmer time to taste; there is no single "correct" strength.
