How do I get even, long-lasting results when tinting at home?

Start with completely clean, dry brows and lashes — any makeup, sebum, or residue blocks even penetration. Use a gentle, oil-free cleanser and pat dry. Mix the color cream and developer in a non-metallic bowl using the exact ratio from the instructions (usually 1:1 by volume, but verify). Stir until the texture is uniform with no streaks. Apply a thin, even layer with the provided brush or a fine angled brush, covering each hair from root to tip without flooding the skin. Set a timer for the minimum development time; check a test hair at that point. If the shade is sufficient, remove immediately with a damp cotton pad, wiping away from the eye. If you need more depth, continue in 30-second increments up to the maximum time. After removal, rinse the area with cool water and avoid oil-based makeup removers, waterproof mascara, steam, and heavy sweating for the first 24 hours so the pigment can fully stabilise. Conditioning with a lash/brow serum (oil-free) after that window helps maintain hair flexibility.
