How can I keep the colour looking even after dyeing?

After colouring, the shade remains in the hair and grows out rather than washing out completely. The most visible maintenance need is usually the roots, which may be refreshed every 4–6 weeks depending on hair growth, natural colour and the amount of grey. If the lengths look faded between full applications, follow the leaflet’s guidance for refreshing them instead of repeatedly applying permanent colour from roots to ends without need.

Use a shampoo intended for coloured hair and avoid overly harsh cleansing routines, as frequent strong washing can make coloured hair look dull more quickly. A weekly deep mask can help the hair feel smoother and reduce roughness, which is useful because coloured hair often looks more even when the surface feels conditioned. When heat styling, use sensible temperature settings and avoid unnecessary repeated heat exposure.

Sun, chlorinated water and frequent washing can affect how vivid brown tones appear over time. If you swim, rinse hair with clean water afterwards and condition the lengths. Store any unopened product as directed on the package, and never keep mixed colour for later use because the oxidative reaction happens after mixing.
