Is there a risk of an allergic reaction, and how can it be avoided?

Among the ingredients there are several groups that cause unwanted reactions in sensitive people more often than others.

• Propolis and bee products — one of the most common allergens in this category. If you react to honey, royal jelly or beeswax, it is better to avoid using the product or to consult an allergist first.
• Eucalyptus, spruce and rosemary essential oils — may cause irritation or burning in people with sensitive mucous membranes, as well as in those who react to terpenes and aromatic compounds.
• Cyclamen extract — a plant ingredient with a pronounced local action; with individual sensitivity to it, an atypical reaction of the mucous membrane is possible.

To reduce the risk, apply a minimal amount of the product the first time and wait a few minutes. If burning, increased irritation or unusual sensations appear, stop using it. If you have chronic conditions of the nose or sinuses, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is best to consult a specialist before use.
